A suspect in a series of bank robberies fled police Wednesday and ended up flipping the getaway car in a fiery crash in northeast Dallas.The latest robbery was reported about 10:45 a.m. at a Bank of America in the 3200 block of Gaston Avenue.The suspect fled northwest to Mockingbird Lane and Greenville Avenue where the getaway car, a gold-colored SUV, struck another car head-on, flipped over and started burning, according to KDFW-TV (Fox 4).Witnesses told Fox that the suspect escaped from the burning SUV and ran away. Other media reported that he was taken into custody.Dallas Fire-Rescue paramedics took one person involved in the crash to a hospital. Westbound Mockingbird Lane was shut down at Matilda Street, and a block of Greenville Avenue was also closed just north of Mockingbird.Police are expected to release more details shortly.
