Fatal Crash Into Flower Mound's River Walk Probably Caused by Seizure, Police Say

A Flower Mound man died Sunday night after driving into the city's River Walk during what police suspect was a medical emergency, officials said, but his young daughter survived the crash.Flower Mound police spokesman Capt. Shane Jennings said the incident took place about 7:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of Riverside Drive. A resident called police after watching a white SUV drive into the man-made river, which is 10 to 12 feet deep, Jennings said.Officers arrived to find an 8-year-old girl had escaped the vehicle and was making her way toward land.An officer jumped into the water and broke one of the SUV's windows, sustaining minor injuries, Jennings said.
