Farmers Branch Officer Indicted in Shooting Death of 35-year-old Man in Stolen Truck in Northwest Dallas

A Dallas County grand jury has indicted a Farmers Branch police officer in the shooting death of a 35-year-old man June 12 in a shopping center parking lot in northwest Dallas.Michael Dunn, who turned himself in to the Seagoville Police Department, faces a murder charge in the death of Juan "Johnny" Moreno, who was killed after an officer opened fire when Moreno attempted to flee police.Dunn has since been released on a $150,000 bond, KTVT-TV (Channel 11) reported.Farmers Branch officers began monitoring the pickup Moreno was driving after it had been reported stolen in Irving. About 7 p.m. on the day he died, Moreno was inside the truck with two other people, parked in the 11400 block of Emerald Street, near Royal Lane west of Interstate 35E.   Continue reading...
