Explosive Device Damages Texas Church Near Site of Starbucks Bomb, Diocese Says

A suspected explosive device detonated overnight outside a southeast Texas church, causing minor damage.The Episcopal Diocese of Texas said in a statement that a package exploded outside an office door at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Beaumont sometime between the end of worship Wednesday evening and the beginning of school Thursday morning.Beaumont police said only that they were investigating "suspicious circumstances" involving minor damage and that there was no package. They have not released additional information.No one was injured, church officials said. Windows were broken, walls were damaged and bushes were torn apart, according to the diocese.All Saints Episcopal School, which is on the same campus, was evacuated and cleared by police after someone discovered the damage, the church said.  Continue reading...
