Ex-Fort Worth Officer Who Spent 21 Years in Prison for Rape Is Found Not Guilty in New Trial

A former Fort Worth police officer who served 21 years after being convicted of raping a 13-year-old girl has been found not guilty in a new trial.Brian Franklin, 57, was sentenced to life in prison after his conviction in 1995. It took a jury just over an hour to find him not guilty on Friday, KTVT-TV (Channel 11) reported.The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals ruled in April that his conviction should be thrown out because his accuser later admitted lying during his trial.
