Election Judge's Comments at DISD Runoff Voting Site ‘hit a Nerve'

The increased partisanship in Dallas ISD’s District 2 race between Dustin Marshall and Lori Kirkpatrick spilled over into a polling place during last Saturday’s runoff election.A Democratic Party election judge told voters who showed up to Precinct 1023, located in Lakewood’s The Father’s Church, that the school board race between Kirkpatrick and Marshall featured a candidate who supported public education and one who didn’t.The election judge — Linda Sprowl — was allowed to stay at her post, even after she confirmed to Dallas County Elections administrators that she made such statements. “She was pretty unabashed in her support,” Marshall said.Multiple efforts to reach Sprowl have been unsuccessful.  Continue reading...
