Elderly Man Found Dead, Woman Injured After Dallas Police Went to Home on a Welfare Check

An 83-year-old man was found dead and an 80-year-old woman was found injured after police were called to do a welfare check on New Years Day at a southeast Oak Cliff home. Dallas officers checked on the pair around 11:30 a.m. Sunday at a house in the 1600 block of of East Redbird Lane. Choyce Moon was found dead, and Mae Moon was taken to the hospital, police said. Officials did not give details on how Choyce Moon was killed or how badly injured Mae Moon was. Police are looking for a known suspect in the slaying.
