Drunken Driving Suspect Suffers Lacerated Spleen, Broken Femur After Crashing Into Tree in Far East Dallas

A suspected drunken driver was critically injured early Friday after he struck a tree in Far East Dallas.Shortly before 2 a.m., the driver of a 2002 Chevrolet pickup veered left across several lanes of the 3200 block of Highland Road, near North Jim Miller Road, and into a tree, police said. The person was taken in critical condition to Baylor University Medical Center with a broken left femur, multiple rib fractures and a lacerated spleen, police said.
