Driver Who Died in Fiery Crash in Fort Worth Also Involved in Hit-and-run, Witness Tells Police

A witness told Fort Worth police that a driver who was killed when his car struck a bridge support Tuesday morning also was involved in an earlier hit-and-run crash.It happened around 3 a.m. on West Morningside Drive near South Main Street, police said. The driver struck a bridge support for a railroad trestle, then was trapped in his vehicle when it caught fire.The same vehicle was involved in another accident around 2:50 a.m. a few blocks away on Hemphill Street, police said. The driver who was hit in that accident then called 911 and began to follow the fleeing vehicle, police said.The driver who died has not been identified.
