Driver Leads Police on 100-mph Chase From Springtown to Fort Worth

A high-speed chase going the wrong way down State Highway 199 began in Springtown and wound up on Interstate 820 in Fort Worth, involving three police departments before the suspect crashed and was arrested.It happened just after midnight Thursday morning when Springtown police tried to make a traffic stop along State Highway 199. The suspect, who was driving a silver Honda, took off down the highway and turned onto I-820 near Lake Worth, driving east on the west side of the freeway, police said.Springtown and Reno police pursued, and Fort Worth police joined in and deployed road spikes before the chase entered the downtown area. The vehicle crashed while trying to take a ramp, police said.Police estimated that speeds reached as high as 100 mph. The suspect was arrested and faces multiple charges in Parker County, police said.No one was injured and no one other than the driver wrecked during the chase.  Continue reading...
