Driver Killed in Dallas After Her Car Crosses Northwest Highway Median

A woman was killed Wednesday afternoon after her car crossed into oncoming traffic on Northwest Highway, striking another vehicle head-on and finally crashing into a utility pole.The accident occurred about 1:30 p.m. when the woman, driving a black Saturn Ion, lost control of the eastbound vehicle in the 4100 block of Northwest Highway and crossed the center median at Frenchman's Creek, police said.The Saturn struck a white Chevy Astro van head-on, then veered across the westbound lanes of Northwest Highway and collided with a wooden utility pole. The Saturn was then struck by a white full-size Chevy van. The driver of the Saturn was pronounced dead at the scene. She is described as a white female between 28 and 35 years old.The 36-year-old driver of the Astro van and his 39-year-old passenger were taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries, while the occupants of the Chevy van were unhurt.  Continue reading...
