Driver Crashes on I-635 After Being Shot, Garland Police Say

A driver crashed on Interstate 635 in Garland after being shot Monday night, police said. The man struck the inside barrier of the westbound lanes near Centerville Road about 9 p.m., Garland police spokesman Pedro Barineau said. He was transported to a hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds, but a surgeon later said he was stable. Police are investigating whether the incident is connected to reports of gunfire at Interstate 30 and Broadway Boulevard about 15 minutes before the victim was found on, Barineau said. "We've got to talk to him," he said. No suspect information is currently available. This summer in the Dallas-Fort Worth area there have been both road rage related shootings and isolated shootings of drivers by suspects who knew them.
