Driver Crashes After Being Shot in the Face by Suspect Who Remains at Large, Cedar Hill Police Say

A driver crashed into a fence after being shot in the face overnight by a suspect who remains at large, Cedar Hill police said. Officers were traveling north on Clark Road when they saw the vehicle that had slammed into a fence at an apartment complex near East Belt Line Road about 1:45 a.m. The vehicle started to leave the area with the fence and officers initiated a traffic stop. They initially thought it was a car accident, but then found out that someone in the vehicle had been shot, Cedar Hill police spokesman Colin Chenault said. They called for medics and he was transported to a hospital. His condition is not known. A witness told police that someone in vehicle had taken out a weapon, shot the person who was driving at the time and then ran from the scene, Chenault said. The shooter's motive is not yet known. The Department of Public Safety helicopter and DeSoto K-9 unit assisted in the search, but the suspect has not yet been located.A driver in Denton crashed into a fence after being shot multiple times Monday night.
