About 30 employees from a Dallas-based hospitality design firm taped down carpet tiles, moved in furniture and hung up artwork.The assignment was typical. The setting wasn’t. Looney & Associates normally creates high-end spaces in hotels and restaurants. Think The Hyatt and Fogo De Chao.But last week the firm spruced up J.W. Ray Elementary School in Old East Dallas, adding framed student artwork to the parent-teacher lounge, carpets and chairs to reading nooks in the hallway and balls and jerseys for the playground.
