Dogs Saved From Harvey Floodwaters Head to Canada to Find Homes

For four Texas shelter dogs, the 1,500 mile journey to find a home began last Monday when Hurricane Harvey flood waters poured into their kennels in Hankamer, a tiny town just east of Houston.They climbed on top of crates to try to escape the rising water until Dallas-area dog rescue groups made it just in time to save them and almost 100 other dogs stranded at Tall Tails Animal Rescue.On Wednesday the four dogs, Fauna, Egg Roll, Carlton and Lilac were loaded onto a plane destined for Buffalo, N.Y. to begin the final leg of their arduous journey.
