Dog About Town: Checking Out a New Brewery and More Things to Do

Dallas Pets Alive's yearlong Brew Tour will continue from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Four Corners Brewery, 1311 S. Ervay St. A new brewery is hosting the group each month, and participants will receive a Brew Card at the first one they visit and a stamp for every event they attend. Those who end the year with at least 10 stamps will win DPA swag. Each brewery will offer a beer special with proceeds benefiting DPA, and dogs are welcome. Future stops (so far) include Collective Brewing Project on April 14, Four Bullets Brewery on May 12, Grapevine Craft Brewery on June 9 and Lakewood Brewing Co. on July 14. Free admission. on the schedule•The Wagers for Weims casino night, from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Community Beer Co., will raise money for Weimaraner Rescue of Texas. Along with table games and craft beer, the dog-friendly event will feature a silent auction. The brewery is at 1530 Inspiration Drive. Get tickets -- $50 and up, includes $1,000 in Funny Money, three beers and a koozie -- at•Penny Whistle Photography will take St. Patrick's Day portraits from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Coppell Farmers Market, in the public square at 768 W. Main St. Humans and felines are welcome too. Photos will be emailed, and instead of charging they will collect donations for the Coppell Humane Society.•The North Texas Boston Terrier Tea Parties' monthly meetup, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the dog park in McKinney's Bonnie Wenk Park, will include Easter photos. The park is on Virginia Parkway, northeast of Hardin Boulevard. All short-nose breeds are welcome. Free.•All friendly four-leggers are welcome at DFW Pug Rescue Club's Pugs in the Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at The Shacks at Austin Ranch. You can receive a code to enter the dog park by stopping by their booth or by eating at one of the adjacent restaurants. 5800 Windhaven Parkway in The Colony.
