Years before his son stood trial for murder, Robert Johnson knew something was off about him.The happy, talkative kid he once knew would no longer speak to him but instead addressed the voices inside his head. Even so, the father was unsuccessful in finding mental treatment before his son left to play college football at Texas A&M."I couldn't get any support," the father testified at his son Thomas Johnson's trial.On Tuesday morning, a Dallas County jury convicted the former Aggie and Skyline High School football player for the 2015 murder of a Dallas marathoner.It took the jury less than half an hour to reach their conclusion that Johnson ambushed 53-year-old Dave Stevens with a machete as he ran on the White Rock Creek Trail on Oct. 12, 2015.  Continue reading...
