Denton Man Shot Bow and Arrow While Trying to Evict Roommate, Police Say

A Denton man who was trying to evict his roommate was arrested Sunday after he threatened him with a bow and arrow, police said. The roommate called police about 6:30 p.m. to report Daniel Terrell Butler had locked him and his belongings outside of their home in the 800 block of Sun Valley Drive. Officers went to the home to resolve the issue but were called back a few hours later, police spokesman Bryan Cose said. Butler was arrested after he was found with an arrow notched in his bow, police said. The roommate told officers Butler had shot an arrow at him but struck his bedroom door instead. Butler, 61, insisted he was aiming for the door, reportedly telling officers, "I wasn't trying to hit him, I was just trying to get him to shut the hell up."He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and posted bond Tuesday.Butler has arrests dating back to 2003 in Denton County for charges including possession of drug paraphernalia and striking an unattended vehicle, according to court records.  Continue reading...
