Denton County Man Charged With Kidnapping After Amber Alert Is Issued for 10-year-old Daughter

A Denton County man has been charged with kidnapping after authorities say he abducted his 10-year-old daughter.William Boerner, 33, of Pilot Point was arrested early Monday in Little Elm.Police in Pilot Point, 15 miles northeast of Denton, issued an Amber Alert for Halley Boerner around midnight Sunday after her guardian said Boerner had refused to return her. Boerner, who had been with his daughter since Friday, is not allowed to have unsupervised contact with the girl.Authorities spotted Boerner's pickup on U.S. Highway 380 in Little Elm shortly after 2 a.m. and performed a traffic stop. Halley was with him in the truck and unharmed, police said.Boerner has a long criminal history in Denton County, including convictions for family-violence assault, theft and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
