Dennis Simon, 65, Noted SMU Political Science Professor Shared Love of Civil Rights History During Student Tours

Dennis Michael Simon led his students on spring-break pilgrimages to experience "the power of place" he felt at civil rights landmark locations across the South.A dedicated Southern Methodist University political science professor, Simon was an authority on elections and the American presidency.Simon, 65, died Feb. 12 of cancer at his Dallas home.Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Perkins Chapel on the SMU campus.  Continue reading...
