Democrats Target Coppell Rep. Kenny Marchant and 4 Other Texas Republicans as 2020 Campaign Begins

WASHINGTON — The Democrats' House campaign arm is marshaling resources against five Texas Republicans, including Coppell Rep. Kenny Marchant, as they begin to make moves in what's expected to be a hotly contested 2020 election.The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on Friday zeroed on those Texans as the group launched its first digital ad campaign of the cycle, blaming them and 20 other Republicans across the U.S. for the record-setting partial government shutdown.That gambit comes on the day when 800,000 federal workers, including those in the Coast Guard and Border Patrol, will miss their second paycheck due to the fight over border wall funding."When you work hard to keep our country safe, you should receive your paycheck, period," DCCC spokesman Cole Leiter said.
