Delta Bets on Business Travelers in Dallas and Houston With New A220 Planes

Delta Air Lines hasn’t had as strong of a presence in Texas in recent years, but that could be changing with the introduction of a new plane that caters to business travelers.And DFW International Airport is one of the Airbus A220's most important launch routes. Beginning Thursday, Delta will put the twin-engine, narrow-body plane into service, with a 7:05 a.m. departure from DFW to New York's LaGuardia Airport. Houston also is one of the inaugural cities.The modern-looking planes, formerly known as the “Bombardier CSeries,” boast a total of 109 of the widest seats in Delta’s fleet. It has 12 first class seats, 15 Comfort+ coach seats with additional legroom and 82 seats in the main cabin. The planes also include amenities like Wi-Fi and individual seatback screens.The planes’ debut comes as the company celebrates the 10th anniversary of its merger with Northwest Airlines, which made it the largest airline until American Airlines merged with US Airways five years ago.  Continue reading...
