Greg Abbott’s request in November, Sen. John Cornyn said Thursday.The news comes as the Senate prepares to vote late Thursday or Friday on a $36.5 billion emergency spending bill already passed by the House, a measure Cornyn previously dismissed as “inadequate.”Cornyn, the No. 2 Republican in the Senate, said that he made a direct appeal to Trump and budget director Mick Mulvaney for additional funds for Texas, but that Trump “strongly indicated his preference” for a separate supplemental bill that will include funds “specifically to aid Texas.” He did not specify the amount.Harvey: Do you need flood insurance in Dallas?
