The Rangers won the negotiating rights to Darvish with a bid of $51.7 million to his former club: Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters."I want to become the kind of pitcher that will make people say 'Darvish is the No. 1 pitcher in the world,'" Darvish said at a news conference after signing with the Rangers.The Rangers also gave Darvish a six-year, $56-million contract.
