DART Ridership Is Falling and It Will Keep Falling Until DART Shifts Focus to Bus Service

Two important facts explain much about the crisis of confidence Dallas Area Rapid Transit confronts as it drives into its 35th year. Population in its 13-city service area keeps going up, and yet year after year, the total number of riders who board its buses, trains and vans keeps going down.The agency desperately needs a course-correction, and we're relieved to see new board members from Dallas regularly insist on service improvements.
