Dallas Voters Wisely Back Investing in the City and Reject a Wasteful Countywide Bus Service

The voters have spoken and we like the messages they've sent.City of Dallas voters overwhelmingly approved a $1.05 billion bond package to repair city buildings and streets and to add parks and recreational amenities. And countywide, taxpayers resoundingly voted to dissolve the Dallas County Schools, a troubled archaic countywide transportation service fraught with self-dealing, wasteful investments and poor performances. Statewide, voters swept to victory a slate of constitutional amendments that included improvements to home equity rules as well as an innovative way to encourage personal savings and increase financial security in low-income communities.  Continue reading...
