Dallas Police Officer Arrested in Denton County on Theft Charge

A Dallas police officer is on administrative leave while police investigate allegations of theft against him, police said.The Northeast Police Department arrested Officer Christopher Hankins on a misdemeanor theft charge on Wednesday, Dallas police said in a news release.They didn't, however, elaborate on the allegations against their officer. The Northeast Police Department serves the Denton County areas of Krugerville and Cross Roads.Hankins has been on the Dallas police force since 2014 and is assigned to the north central patrol division.
