Dallas Police Officer Accused of Family Violence Faces Aggravated Assault Charge

A Dallas police officer accused of family violence turned himself in Tuesday to the Dallas County jail, police say. Officer Kevin Ramon Thomas, 44, was booked into the jail on a warrant from the Lancaster Police Department, Dallas police said. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bail has been set at $15,000. Dallas police did not release additional details about what led to the charge.Thomas, who is assigned to the south central patrol division, has been an officer with the department since May 2014.
