Dallas Police Now Say No Officers Were Put on Administrative Leave for Social Media Investigation

After The Dallas Morning News reported Friday night that dozens of officers were under investigation for bigoted and problematic Facebook posts, Dallas Police Chief U. Renee Hall said four of the officers had been placed on administrative leave “based on the extreme nature of their posts.”But that never happened. Executive Assistant Police Chief David Pughes said police commanders have yet to sideline any officer because of the social media investigation.And the number of officers under investigation isn’t 25 as Hall said. Police say now they’re reviewing 34 officers — a number closer to the 35 cops that a Dallas Police Association attorney estimated were under investigation Friday.
