Dallas Muslim Leader Arrested During DACA Protest on Capitol Hill

Dallas Muslim preacher Omar Suleiman was among several prominent Muslim and Jewish activists arrested at the U.S. Capitol on Monday while demanding protection for young immigrant "Dreamers."The activists were released about five hours later, Suleiman said on social media."I'm proud of the leaders who came out yesterday to join," the imam wrote Tuesday on Facebook. "It was an honor to be arrested with you! I pray that millions are inspired by your leadership."Others arrested included Women’s March co-chair Linda Sarsour; Stosh Cotler and Jason Kimelman-Block of Jewish action group Bend the Arc; and Dawud Walid, Zahra Billoo and Nihad Awad of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) were also arrested.  Continue reading...
