When I walked in to the stadium in Georgetown for the first of nine UIL soccer state semifinal and final games, I saw the photo I wanted to make. There was a banner behind the bench on the away team side that read "Texas High School State Championships." I had an image in mind of fans leaning over the banner, high-fiving players as they walked past. I envisioned the word "State" at the bottom of the frame, indicating a state championship win.
