Dallas Man Who Robbed Foot Locker and Two 7-Elevens at Gunpoint Gets 15-plus Years in Prison

A Dallas man who robbed a Foot Locker and two 7-Elevens at gunpoint has been sentenced to more than 15 years in federal prison.Dequindrick Alexander, 22, was sentenced to 15 years and four months after guilty pleas to several counts related to the robberies, which took place in June 2014.According to court documents, Alexander entered the Foot Locker store in the 600 block of West Illinois Avenue with a shoe box on June 29, 2014. He then took a .380-caliber pistol out of the box and pointed it at an employee, demanding cash.After obtaining $209, Alexander swiped a pair of shoes from a display case as he left the store.The next day, he went into a 7-Eleven in the 2200 block of South Beckley Avenue, threatened an employee with a gun and once again demanded cash. In addition to an unspecified amount of money taken from the store, he took $220 and property from a store customer.That same day, Alexander entered a 7-Eleven in the 800 block of Ninth Street and pointed a gun at both an employee and store customers, eventually leaving the building with nearly $147, plus cigarettes.He was arrested in September 2014 and charged with two counts of interference with commerce by robbery and two counts involving possessing, using and brandishing a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.  Continue reading...
