Dallas Man Gets 15-plus Years for Sharing Child Porn Online

A Dallas man has been sentenced to more than 15 years in federal prison after admitting that he shared child pornography online.Rafael Almeida Zapata, 31, was sentenced Friday to a term of 188 months as part of a plea agreement on one count of transporting and shipping child pornography. He had faced a sentence of between five and 20 years.According to court documents, authorities searched Zapata's home in June 2015 and found more than 600 images and videos of child pornography on his computer — some of which "depicted sadistic and masochistic content." Zapata admitted to authorities that he had shared some of the child pornography on a file-sharing program.Zapata pleaded guilty to the transporting-and-shipping charge in August.
