Dallas Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Shooting During Lake Highlands Drug Deal

A Dallas man faces a capital murder charge after a fatal shooting during a drug deal in Lake Highlands.Christopher Rowe, 18, was booked into the Dallas County jail Monday. He remained in custody Wednesday, with bail set at $500,000.Police began investigating early Sunday after an officer working off-duty at Medical City Dallas Hospital notified them about a shooting victim who was brought to the emergency room around 1:15 a.m. Christopher Corder, 27, had been shot in the head and later died.The man who had taken Corder to the hospital told police he had driven Corder to the Summer Glen Apartments in the 9600 block of Rolling Rock Lane, near Walnut Hill Lane and Interstate 635, around midnight to sell an ounce of marijuana, according to an arrest-warrant affidavit. Corder told him the buyer was a new customer, he said.When they arrived, the buyer got into the back of the witness's vehicle, pulled out a pistol and told the pair to "give me all your [expletive]," according to the affidavit.  Continue reading...
