Dallas ISD's Newest Police Officer Spends Her First Day on Paw Patrol

The Dallas ISD Police Department has a new officer, and students spent part of the day Monday scratching her behind her ears.Athena, a brown-and-white pit bull, is the first DISD police dog, WFAA-TV (Channel 8) reports. She was rescued from Dallas Animal Services by the Animal Farm Foundation, a group that has trained pit bulls to work as detection dogs for police departments around the country.On Monday she and her partner, officer Jody Bullard, took breaks from inspecting lockers and classrooms to socialize with some of the students she's protecting.  Continue reading...
