Dallas ISD Trustee Contender Says He Didn't Belong on Mayoral Candidate Eric Johnson's Endorsement List

Dallas mayoral candidate Eric Johnson on Tuesday unveiled a lengthy list of endorsements with prominent names of business tycoons, politicos, community leaders and clergy.But at least one of those on the list said he didn't belong there. Maxie Johnson — an Oak Cliff pastor and candidate to replace outgoing Dallas ISD trustee Lew Blackburn for the District 5 seat — said on social media Tuesday that he hadn't endorsed anyone in the mayor's race."I'm not against Eric Johnson," Maxie Johnson said in a phone interview on Tuesday. "I just haven't spoken with him and he's not spoken with me. My intention was not to disrespect him. We thank him for all he's doing on the state level, and he is respected in the Dallas community.
