Dallas Cowboys Score With New Frisco Shared Office Center

The Dallas Cowboys have scored a touchdown with their new coworking center in Frisco. The shared office space that's part of the Cowboys' Star development doesn't open for two months but is already substantially leased."We are actually sold out of the private offices and are close to fully leased on the dedicated desks," said Jerry Jones Jr., the Cowboys' chief sales and marketing officer. "That's not typical, leasing before people can see it."You have a huge association with the Cowboys and the Star and what this whole project means," Jones said. The 18,000-square-foot coworking center was announced just three months ago for a floor of office space overlooking the Star's central plaza.Called Formation, the shared office facility is one of dozens of coworking operations popping around North Texas. But Formation will be the only location that shares an address with the legendary football team and has access to all the Star's amenities."It gives you a chance to have your business associated with the Dallas Cowboys, the Jones family and the Star," said Jones, giving a tour of the construction site. "People will be excited about coming to work here."You are not going to see a space like this in coworking anywhere in the country," he said. The third-floor office suite has a large reception area with lounge areas, an open workspace called the library, almost two dozen private offices and a section with dedicated desks. There are conference rooms, a kitchen area for tenants and a section of "phone booths" for private calls.Jones said about half of the Formation tenants so far are also members of the private Cowboys Club restaurant and social club next door or are members of the Cowboys Fit fitness center on the ground floor of the building. The coworking operation, like the other facilities at the Star, builds on the football team's brand and gives the public more contact with the organization."We wanted our fans to touch and feel the Dallas Cowboys in a way they have never done before," Jones said.Along with tenants in the office space, Formation members will be provided custom business events at the Star, members-only digital content and advanced access to events at Ford Center and AT&T Stadium. The shared office center is set up for networking and business socialization."Someone who is young in their career and has a small operation might get exposed up here to meeting the right person," Jones said.Membership packages at Formation begin at $525 per month for an open desk space. They early success of the space is prompting the Jones family to consider opening additional Cowboys-branded coworking centers in other areas of North Texas."We have some options to look at," Jones said.Cowboys Fit recently opened a second location in Plano.  Continue reading...
