Dallas County Commissioners Want to See a Citizen-led Group Redraw State, U.S. District Maps

Dallas County commissioners on Tuesday voiced support for an independent citizen commission tasked with redrawing state legislature and U.S. congressional districts.The commissioners voted 4-1 to pass a resolution intended to send a message to state lawmakers that Dallas County wants a depoliticized process for drawing district boundaries.As the system works now, “state legislators are effectively choosing their own constituents,” the resolution read.  Continue reading...
