D-FW Companies Notify State They're Eliminating 1,001 Jobs

Nine Dallas-Fort Worth companies are cutting a combined 1,000 workers, according to filings with the Texas Workforce Commission.Companies that notified the state last month of layoffs are:Transamerica Life Insurance Co. in Plano: 264Cenveo Corp. in Ennis: 192Cook Children's Northeast Hospital in Hurst: 158Capital One in Plano: 103Bank of America-Amon Carter in Tarrant County: 87Arrow Electronics Inc. in Dallas: 66Medifast in Dallas: 66XPO Logistics Supply Chain in Denton County: 58Harman International in Collin County: 7The staff cuts at Cook Children's result from the hospital no longer meeting federal guidelines on patients staying overnight. Cook is converting the hospital into an ambulatory surgical center.
