Crews Contain Fire in Downtown Dallas Hotel Parking Garage

Authorities were able to control a fire Wednesday morning in a hotel parking garage, which was under construction, in downtown Dallas. At about 3:03 a.m., Dallas Fire-Rescue crews saw smoke and fire coming from the garage attached to the Hampton Inn and Suites at 200 Ervay St. in downtown Dallas, fire spokesman Jason Evans said. The hotel was evacuated and the fire was eventually controlled. Firefighters were concerned about a 200-foot tall crane located in the middle of the structure, Evans said.
