Cousins Face Attempted Murder Charges After String of Five Robberies in Arlington, Police Say

Two cousins who are suspects in five robberies were charged with the attempted capital murder of a 39-year-old man, according to Arlington police.Phillip Freeman, 23, of Austin and Shawntavius Freeman, 21, of Arlington were charged with attempted capital murder last week, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.The cousins are accused of robbing and shooting Jeronimo Lopez at an apartment in the 700 block of E. Sanford Street. The two beat Lopez and another man before shooting Lopez, who survived, according to the Star-Telegram. They also threatened a third man with a gun. The two were involved in five robberies on June 9 and June 10, police said.Officers found their vehicle on the morning of June 10, which led to a short chase, and they were arrested in the 700 block of E. Lamar Boulevard, police said.Phillip Freeman was charged with 11 counts of aggravated robbery, while Shawntavius Freeman was charged with nine, according to the Star-Telegram.  Continue reading...
