Closing Arguments Begin in Trial of Former Garland Officer Who Fatally Shot Man During Chase in 2012

Closing arguments began Friday afternoon in the trial of a former Garland police officer charged with manslaughter for fatally shooting an unarmed man he and other officers were chasing four years ago.Patrick Wayne Tuter, 36, is charged with manslaughter in the death of Michael Vincent Allen, 25, who was killed after a half-hour, high-speed car chase in August 2012.The jury can choose to instead convict him of a lesser charge of criminally negligent homicide.  Continue reading...
