Chip Gaines Extending His Brand to NASCAR and Texas Motor Speedway

HGTV Fixer Upper star Chip Gaines has a new one-day gig as part of his efforts to promote his new business book, Capital Gaines, published later this month.Gaines, who co-stars with his wife Joanna on Fixer Upper, will be the honorary pace car driver for the AAA Texas 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series playoff race Sunday, Nov. 5 at Texas Motor Speedway. In the co-branding marketing arrangement, Gaines may sell more books and Texas Motor Speedway may sell a few more tickets to the event that starts at 1 p.m. on Nov. 5.The Gaineses said last week that season 5 of Fixer Upper will be their last. The new episodes premier in November and run through next spring. But obviously they plan to stay in the limelight with so many businesses up and running and employing more than 600 people in Waco.At Texas Motor Speedway, Gaines will lead a pack of 40 drivers including the Round of 8 championship contenders to the green flag in his official 2017 Chevrolet SS pace car.Gaines, 42, grew up in Colleyville and always the jokester, said in a press release, "This might actually be the first time I don't get in trouble for speeding in Roanoke."Twitter: @MariaHalkias  Continue reading...
