Children's Apparel Retailer Gymboree Closing 20 Stores in Texas

Kid's apparel retailer Gymboree Corp. is closing 350 stores, including 20 stores in Texas, as part of its bankruptcy reorganization.Three Gymboree stores are closing in Plano at Collin Creek Mall, Preston and Park and the Shops at Willow Bend. Gymboree at Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville is also closing. Gymboree will keep several North Texas stores open including NorthPark Center in Dallas and Windhaven Plaza at Parker and the Tollway in Plano. The retailer filed for Chapter 11 last month saying it had too many unprofitable locations and would reorganize around 900 Gymboree, Crazy 8 and Janie and Jack stores.Seven of its more upscale Janie and Jack stores are closing, including one at Austin's Arboretum.
