Children Say Stranger Offered Them Candy as They Walked in Rowlett Neighborhood

Rowlett police want residents to be on the lookout after children reported that a man pulled up next to them Monday and offered them candy. The man reportedly pulled up to a group of children about 3:30 p.m. at Smartt Street and Lois Lane and asked if they wanted any candy. The children said no and walked away. Another child who was approaching the group of kids was also offered candy as he passed the man, police said. The children left unharmed and went to tell their parents. One child told police that about a week before, the same man drove the same car up to the front of their home as they were leaving. As the child walked across the street, the man asked if that was where they lived, police said. The child didn't answer and ran to a friend's house. The man was described as a white male in his mid-20s with medium-length dark hair and a medium build. He was driving a black, four-door, mid-sized car. The license plate number is not known. Anyone with additional information is asked to call Rowlett police at 972 412-6220.  Continue reading...
