Chase From Oklahoma to Texas Ends With Kidnapper Shot Dead, His Victim Stabbed But Alive

A kidnapper was killed in an officer-involved shooting Thursday morning after stabbing a woman and leading authorities on a chase from Oklahoma into North Texas, officials said.The chase began as a kidnapping in Oklahoma before ending on U.S. Highway 287 east of Vernon, the Wichita Falls Times Record News reported. Vernon is near the Red River and about 50 miles west of Wichita Falls.A Wichita County sheriff's deputy saw the pursuit in progress, the paper reported. When the deputy was near the suspect's red Dodge Charger, the car stopped. The deputy then saw the suspect begin stabbing a woman in the car who he had kidnapped, officials told the paper.The woman got away and ran toward the deputy, and the suspect was shot, the paper reported.  Continue reading...
