Caravaggio Painting in Dallas Revives a Question on Mary Magdalene's Identity

A careful reader of the recent story on Caravaggio's masterpiece Martha and Mary Magdalene, on loan to the Dallas Museum of Art, took issue with the assertion that the two women in the painting were sisters.Cue the biblical scholars.
