Campaign and Poll Workers Saw a ‘lackluster' Election Day Turnout in Dallas County

Election Day dragged along for poll workers and campaigners at polling sites Saturday, with voter turnout just shy of 10 percent for Dallas County’s municipal elections.Most of the county’s voters cast ballots early — there were about 74,400 early voters compared to just under 54,900 Election Day voters.Kimberly Green, 44, spent her Saturday trying to convince voters at the Tommie M. Allen Recreation Center in southeast Oak Cliff to reelect council member Tennell Atkins to represent Dallas City Council's District 8.
