A California-based manufacturer is planning a $50 million plant and warehouse in Rockwall.Lollicup USA said Thursday that it will build a 700,000 square-foot industrial project in Rockwall near Interstate 30.The planned manufacturing center east of Dallas will employ about 200 people.Construction on the project will start within 120 days, Lollicup USA CEO Alan Yu said.Lollicup's new plant is scheduled to open in October 2018.Based in Chino, Calif., the company manufacturers beverage and food service containers.The company was founded in 2000 by Yu and Marvin Cheng to operate a chain of tea cafes.It then expanded into producing containers and packaging.The company has a more than 300,000-square-foot plant in Chino and warehouses in Wilmer south of Dallas, in Washington state and South Carolina.The planned Rockwall facility will be its second production center.
