When Hurricane Harvey slammed through the Gulf Coast, Texans donated millions to help neighbors start piecing their shattered lives back together.Despite that generous outpouring — and D-FW residents gave plenty — it's heartwarming to see folks here digging even deeper to help those less fortunate closer to home.So much so that this year's Dallas Morning News Charities fundraising campaign, which kicked off last week, is off to the best start in its 32-year history.
